Why don't we share our faith?

by cyberpope 14. January 2010 02:47

Every Christian, if they have been saved longer than 60 days knows they are called to share their faith.  It is a fact; Jesus made no secret that we were to spread the Good News until His return.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Years ago when I started seeking God’s direction towards evangelism as a young pastor, I asked what is the hold the church back regarding personal evangelism? Why do we tend not to witness and share Christ, when we know that the cost is so high, and that God desires us to reach out with the Gospel?

The answers I received where;

1. Fear or Pride

2. Lack of knowledge or experience in witnessing.

3. Accountability.

4. Slothfulness, or ineffective Spiritual habits.
