The goal of this blog

by cyberpope 8. January 2010 07:35

Thank you for dropping by. I have had many blogs over the last few years. I have started this one on at least two occasions. I think I am now in a place where the Lord can make this blog grow. I have pretty lofty goals. Since it is the start of a new year, I have decided to share them to you in the form of New Years resolutions. My hope is that you will keep me accountable.

1) Post weekly at least.

It is sometimes difficult with running a ministry, working full-time, and taking care of a small family. I believe with your prayers, encouragement, and God's help, I can meet this goal.

2) Further the ministry of the First Cyber Church.

I have always seen the First Cyber church as a place Christians can gather in order to equip the church for the 21st century. Now is the time for this ministry to mature into its calling. We have done some pretty cool things over the years. We have helped churches build their first web site. We have helped large ministries in getting their unique message, given by Christ out where those who have need can hear it. We have had fun with some experimental forms of worship (moos, muds, online evangelism, and video game evangelism). This year we will be working on our monthly podcast.

3) Enter into a closer, deeper, more spiritual walk with God.

It has been 24 years since I have asked Jesus into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior. His Holy Spirit has shown me many things. I miss the passion I had when I first became a Christian. His love was new to me, and I was consumed in my relationship with Him. Over the years, life has happened. I would like to see more of that baby Christian in the walk of a more mature Christian.

Our hope is to never use advertising as a revenue stream. We may sell items that are fun or helpful in nature, but these will be provided with our Copy-Christ statement allowing you to copy the item freely and even sell on your own site. When we find good tools and resources that support our agenda, we will add links to Amazon. If you purchase the item through the link that will help support the month bandwidth costs. The purpose of the First Cyber Church is not to make money, but promote Church Unity, evangelism and assisting Christian ministries in using technology for the maximum benefit.

The CyberPope is a strong believer of tent ministries, so he maintains a job in corporate America and uses those resources for Christ's work.
