Christchievements

by cyberpope 13. January 2010 05:59

Right before the big Y2K brouhahas I was employed part-time at a medium sized church as their evangelist. I had always seemed to fall into a role dealing with out-reach and things evangelistic in manner. Many of the people in this church were a little older. It was also a suburban church so many initially had some concern with evangelism and out-reach. After much sole searching and prayer I started coming up with different ways to get people more comfortable with sharing their faith. Going outside there comfort zone and reaching out to people who at a superficial level appear to be different.

It became my 714 plan, which I am in the process of updating. Now this transition may sound odd, but I was encouraged to read an odd book by some other managers in IT is called “The Game”. I had also noticed that this book showed up many times when you would be looking at a magic book on Amazon. I it was a book on picking up woman! LOL enjoy doing clown stuff and use close up magic as a way to get my hands working the way they once did due to issue with neuropathy. Many people said the book was a must read for those who are into self improvement. I would somewhat disagree with their review LOL. Reading the beginning of the book though, I noticed that they were guiding the people wanting to become PUA’s(pick up artists) to do many baby steps to overcome their anxiety in approaching people.

Reviewing my old 714 training materials, I am now posting my Christchievement challenges. As a stepping stone in trusting God, over coming your own insecurities I will start posting one Christchievement a week. Once you complete it, add yourself to the comments. I will make a badge for each one that you can get from Café Press. Overtime the plan is to get yourself to where you can share your faith with anyone. If you come up with a good one post it, maybe we will make it an official one.

You may be asking where the name comes from though. If you are familiar with PC or Xbox games, most games have little Meta games. A type of game within the game. When you do these little things you get a little badge called an achievement. It keeps you on track to finish the game, makes the game more enjoyable and gives you some bragging rights. I am not normally one to endorse bragging rights in the spiritual realm, but I am up for any thing that gets the sheep out of the pen looking for more sheep for our Sheppard.

The first one is what I call the Praise Him, Praise Him award. In the next 7 days you have to make the statement “Praise God to X number of people. If you have any note worthy experiences post them here. Also post your name when you get the award,

Bronze award X = 25 people in day(head to the mall)

Silver award X = 50 people in one week

Gold award x = 100 people in one week

Platinum award x = 1000 people in 30 days.
